Florida Parishes Skeet & Conservation Assn. Wildlife and Fisheries Banquet
Florida Parishes Skeet and Gun Association held their Wildlife and Fisheries Banquet annual event during the month of August. This program involved the Hunter Safety Course on Aug. 2nd & 3rd and the Wildlife and Fisheries Banquet on Aug. 16th. This event not only supports the efforts of our Wildlife and Fisheries Department, but also supports the operations of the our skeet club throughout the year.
The Hunter Safety Course provides education to young people to safely enjoy the sport of hunting, develop an appreciation for outdoor entertainment, and respect our natural resources. The course is free to everyone 10 years of age or older, and anyone born after 1970 must take this course in order to obtain a hunting license. Since this is an annual event, please pass this information along to anyone who may be interested in participating in the Hunter Safety Course in the future.
There was $1,500 in cash drawings given away at the banquet. One of our Bayou Bounty Hunters, Kentucky Tom, was one of the lucky cash prize winners. The event began at 5:00 p.m. with a cash bar and the program began at 6:00 p.m. followed by a very nice dinner. Rattlesnake Blake, FPS Vice-President, presented the opening remarks for the program. Through this event, the skeet club is able to maintain their operation throughout the year. Therefore, it is vital to our cowboy town that we continue to support the skeet club in this effort.
